Tobey Maguire has reportedly settled a lawsuit that was seeking over $300,000 from him that he allegedly won in a series of high-stakes poker cash games from former hedge fund manager Brad Ruderman.
Ruderman is currently serving time for a variety of crimes and fraud stemming from his mismanagement of client funds deposited at Ruderman Capital Partners, which was later revealed to be a Ponzi scheme by FBI investigators.
Ruderman is rumored to have lost more than $25 million in the private poker games, which included other celebrities such as Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The lawsuit against Maguire was one of several filed against winners in the games, with personal checks written by Ruderman and cashed by the winners used to pinpoint how much money was actually won or lost.
