The World Poker Tour’s first stop at Amneville was a big hit in 2010 — drawing the largest ever international field at the time for a WPT event — and it is back for an encore in 2011, with WPT Amneville promising to be even bigger and better.

The World Poker Tour has become much more worldly in recent years since its purchase by PartyPoker, with countries such as France, Malta, and Vienna benefiting from the push. France plays host to two WPT stops on 2011, with WPT Paris and WPT Amneville on the current schedule.
Tournament regulars need no excuse to play events in France, as the country is well-known for its enthusiasm for poker not being matched yet by an equal amount of skill, so the fields at WPT and EPT events held in France tend to much softer than normal.
Both PartyPoker and bwin are running multiple online satellites each week that award trip packages to WPT Amneville, which could soften the competition even further with many players taking their seat at a major live event for the very first time after qualifying online.
While Amneville isn’t the most scenic of destinations many players choose instead to stay in nearby Luxembourg, which offers a lot more as far as sightseeing and nightlife.
